My first station was at Alameda across the bay from San Francisco. I ate free at the mess hall and for less than a buck I could get anywhere I wanted by city bus or on the BART. My paychecks weren't much and I didn't need much; in fact, I remember one of my fellow marines coming into my room and asking me when I planned on cashing those checks. Four or five of them were scattered on my reading desk. I just tossed them there unthinkingly over several months. It was like that until I got married three years later. Funny how doing THAT changed my blase attitude toward money over night! Even so, I STILL never had to worry about money. We lived within our means and still saved much of it even with giving to the church and to charity. I suffered in a lot of ways during my years in the military, but never did it involve for want of money. I guess you could say I was blessed. God bless us all!PhilippinesPhilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15921214743105919057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9019346368288573554.post-41635603842983548822010-06-23T07:49:49.457-07:002010-06-23T07:49:49.457-07:00There is a story I would like to share. One of the young couples in the class (not yet married) promised to give back what was rightfully His, even though they knew it meant giving up their dream wedding or so they thought at the time. For 18 moths they gave. 6 moths before the wedding Shelly entered a contest at a bridal show she attended. She won. 25,000 dollars towards a wedding and honeymoon. The amount they tithed over that 18 months...2,500 almost down to the exact penny. 10 fold, as promised. God is good, all the time.Dawn Leeminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11456091061830372435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9019346368288573554.post-509650627350341182010-06-23T07:11:54.022-07:002010-06-23T07:11:54.022-07:00There is this great ministry that you can donate t...There is this great ministry that you can donate to...it's called Josh and Danielle Noble.
